Keeping GenDrives running in the field

Kayla diagnoses and repairs GenDrives onsite and helps ensure the fleet meets Plug Power service level availability targets. Her work keeps critical operations moving and customers satisfied. She takes pride in practical fixes that make a real difference for users.

From temp to master technician

Kayla started as a temp on the battery cell assembly line and learned how our products are built. After helping start up the Amazon fulfillment center in Schodack she moved into service roles and advanced to master technician. Her path shows how internal mobility can turn a job into a career.

Why she stayed at Plug

What kept Kayla at Plug was the chance to grow. Leadership gave her multiple opportunities to step into skilled roles even when her experience was limited. She says that support and trust from managers helped shape her career and opened new doors.

Working across cultures

A standout moment for Kayla was working with the SK JV team. Collaborating with colleagues in Korea was an incredible chance to learn different ways to approach problems. The cultural differences were challenging at times but also made the work richer and more rewarding.

Facing challenges with persistence

Service work brings surprises every day. Kayla meets those challenges with hands on skill, teamwork and calm focus. She relies on lessons from past roles and values steady problem solving to get sites back online quickly.

Why hydrogen matters to her

Kayla is excited by steady improvements in our products and by the environmental impact of hydrogen and fuel cells. She feels proud to be part of a team that helps scale cleaner energy and reduce emissions.

Life outside work

When she is not on site, Kayla loves concerts. The lights, the sound and the energy recharge her and remind her to enjoy the little things. She is also active in the Women’s Network and enjoys helping others grow at Plug.
