Plug Power Employees Work Hard for Community Success
Plug Power employees work hard. When you’re building the clean hydrogen economy and driving global sustainability, that’s what it takes. But we also work hard at staying healthy and supporting the communities in which we live. This past month, our teams have had a lot to celebrate in that area.
Community Impact Award
Plug Power was honored at United Way’s 2020 awards with a Community Impact Award, which celebrated the companies making an impact during COVID-19 through the COVID fund.
2020 list of Albany Business Review’s Healthiest Employers
Plug Power is one of 30 companies being honored this year. The honorees have spent years focusing on wellness in the office — and the tangible benefits of those efforts, particularly when it comes to recruiting and retaining talent. One of the secrets to our recent success in this area is thinking outside the box in order to meet the wellness needs of our diverse staff.
No Neighbor Hungry
Plug Power is a community partner in SEFCU’s “No Neighbor Hungry” campaign, benefiting Capital Region agencies battling hunger. 100% of donations received will go to the organizations and SEFCU is matching the first $100,000 raised. The campaign has been able to distribute $10,000 each to South End Children’s Cafe, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, Feed Albany – COVID-19 Relief, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area, Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady, Saratoga County EOC, and The Food Pantries for the Capital District for a total of $70,000.
Virtual 5k for Mental Health Awareness
In honor of May being Mental Health Awareness month, Plug Power, in partnership with the United Way, held its 1st Ever Virtual 5K! The Company set and exceeded a goal of 50 participants to raise awareness and raised $650 dollars for this cause.
During tough times, it is important to remember that we are one community! Let’s pause for a moment to take pride in the impact we’ve been able to make.
