Plug encourages innovation and collaboration, and Aman Awais has embraced this culture as a Systems Engineer. Born and raised in Pakistan, Aman has found herself a home at Plug where she has been able to excel and grow her professional career.
As one of Plug’s systems engineers, her responsibilities include “defining and managing the stack requirements for the cathode subsystem, utilizing advanced data modeling techniques.” To ensure excellence and optimal results, she collaborates with the system and component teams. Plug’s strong belief in collaboration has not only allowed Aman to produce exceptional results but has also grown to become her favorite part of her position.
Aman stated, “My favorite aspect of working for Plug is the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals who make the work environment enjoyable and fulfilling.”
Working closely in teams has inspired Aman to take initiative each morning. She kicks off her day by “setting up our self-made coffee station and preparing coffee for the team—a small, communal ritual that adds a personal touch to our mornings.”
As a systems engineer, Aman is no stranger to problem-solving. She spends the rest of her day engaging in meetings where critical thinking and analysis take center stage.
Aman embraces these meetings, stating, “These sessions are not just about addressing challenges but making the process enjoyable, turning complex problem-solving into a dynamic and fulfilling aspect of our daily work.”
After hours, Aman prioritizes quality time with loved ones, relishing the outdoors in pleasant weather, and dedicating gym time for personal well-being. Beyond work, these moments define a balanced life filled with joy, fresh air, and a commitment to a healthier self.
Aman’s ability to collaborate extends outside of the office. She makes it a point “to have weekly dinners, often accompanied by some Nintendo switch games for added fun and laughter. It’s a wonderful way to connect and create lasting memories with friends and family.”
On the days when she is not spending time with her family or friends, she may be watching her favorite comfort show, “Gilmore Girls.”
Whether it’s defining system requirements or starting the day with a coffee tradition, Aman adds her personal touch to everything. Outside the tech world, she’s all about quality time with loved ones, enjoying the outdoors, and staying fit. Aman turns problem-solving into a dynamic part of her day.
